1. LOCATING UNCLAIMED FUNDS:
Adams & Cohen’s highly trained staff and our latest software locate unclaimed funds from a multitude of sources.
2. IDENTIFYING PARTIES DUE UNCLAIMED FUNDS:
A separate staff group within our firm reviews volumes of private and public documents to determine which individuals, businesses, and estates have rights to the funds.
3. LOCATING CLIENTS:
Our highly trained staff of research professionals, private investigators and skip tracers use every tool available to locate our clients. We utilize several subscription databases, online
public record databases and even knocked on the doors of relatives and former neighbors to locate our clients. This is the most time consuming and costly part of the retrieval
process and can take from several days to several months.
4. CONTACT BY CLAIMS MANAGER:
Each potential client is assigned to one of our claims managers. The assigned claims manager contacts the party of interest and determines the most effective way of claiming the
funds. The claim manager then prepares a simple contingency agreement outlining the terms of the transaction.
5. PREPARING AND SUBMITTING CLAIM:
A. Once you become our client, our team of claims processors prepares all documents, pleadings, declarations and affidavits to document the rights to the funds.
B. Our claims processors then make arrangements to have the documents delivered to our party of interest to be completed and returned to us.
C. Once the documents are returned to us by you, we prepare the complete claim and it is filed with the holder of the unclaimed funds.
D. We will then send you a confirmation letter or email notifying you the claim was filed and approximately when you should expect payment.
6. COMMUNICATION AND UPDATES:
Our claim managers communicate with the funds holders to make sure the claim is been processed on a timely manner.
7. APPROVAL AND NOTIFICATION OF PAYMENT:
We will notify you when your claim is approved for payment and when you will be expected to receive your payment. Most claims are processed and paid within 4-6 weeks.
